News sources and policy

Last updated October 16, 2026

The Prometheus news feedcollects headlines about carbon markets and carbon pricing from publishers’ public RSS and Atom feeds. This page explains what we take, what we do not, and how to reach us.

What we store and show

For each story we keep only:

  • the headline;
  • the short summary the publisher includes in its feed, cut to at most 300 characters;
  • the link to the original article, its publication date and the publisher’s name;
  • topic labels we assign ourselves.

We never copy, store or display full articles, and we do not show publishers’ images. Every headline links to the original story on the publisher’s own site.

How stories are chosen

A keyword filter looks for carbon market topics: emissions trading, carbon pricing, carbon credits, CBAM and border measures, Article 6, voluntary markets, India’s CCTS and similar. Stories that clearly match, from sources we have reviewed, appear automatically. Everything else is checked by a person before it appears, and stories that do not match are not shown. Any story can be removed at any time.

Topic labels are assigned by rules, not by reading the article, so a label can occasionally be wrong. If you spot one, tell us and we will fix it.

Listing a source here does not mean the source endorses Prometheus, or that we endorse everything it publishes.

For publishers: removal and opt-out

If you publish one of these feeds and would like a story removed, or would like us to stop reading your feed altogether, email hipromets@gmail.com with the subject line “News feed: takedown or opt-out request”. Please include the link to each story concerned, or the address of the feed.

We hide the stories you name as soon as we read your message, and we aim to reply within two working days. An opt-out stops all future collection from your feed and hides what we already hold from it.

Our fetcher identifies itself as PrometheusNews/1.0 (+https://promets.org/news/sources). It checks each feed about once an hour, uses conditional requests so an unchanged feed costs you almost nothing, and never requests article pages.

Corrections and suggestions
